Pastoral Crisis Intervention
Pastoral Crisis Intervention
By: George S. Everly, Jr. PhD, ABPP, FACLP
Though often called upon to provide support in times of crisis many pastors and other spiritual and religious leaders have never received guidance in the science of psychological crisis intervention. This book, written by the pioneering author of the field of pastoral crisis intervention, provides that guidance.
Title information
The majority of Americans believe in God. When confronted with loss, trauma, and disaster, research reveals they are more inclined to seek support from spiritual and religious leaders, not psychologists. It is no longer a prerogative for clergy and spiritual leaders to obtain guidance in psychological intervention. It is an obligation. This book Pastoral Crisis Intervention provides insight and practical suggestions on applying psychological crisis intervention with religious and spiritual contexts. It is written by a pioneer in the field of pastoral crisis intervention and the originator of the term itself.
