Please be aware that your CISM Bookstore Account and ICISF Membership Account exist on different websites. You will need to create a separate bookstore account or allow the system to generate one automatically when you check out. A valid ICISF Membership is not required to access or use the CISM Bookstore.

With our online reader, you get a uniform design and experience no matter which browser or device you use, so you can concentrate on your eBook without worrying about navigating the platform or installing any software.
Our Online eBooks run on the browser-based software RedShelf. This means that a variety of functions are available to use within your Online eBook, such as:

You can use our online reader to view your materials from any device that connects to the Internet, such as tablets, smartphones, desktops, or laptops. You’ll also have offline access—no need to download anything!
No, you can only view your content on one device at a time because this file type is protected.
Note: An Internet connection is required to activate Offline mode. Clearing your browser's cache may affect how Offline features work.
Step 1: Log in and go to My eLibrary, then choose the eBook you wish to use offline. Click ‘Read Now’ to open it.
Step 2: Inside your eBook, click the menu in the upper left corner and select ‘Offline’.
Step 3: Switch Offline mode to ‘On’ for the pages you want.
Step 4: Click ‘Download’ to save them.
Step 5: For convenient access later while offline, add the web address of the page to your browser’s bookmarks or favorites.
Our eBooks are created specifically for digital devices. If you prefer a printed copy for portability, we recommend buying a softcover edition instead.
Step 1: To activate this feature, click the 'Navigation' icon in the upper left corner of the screen and navigate to 'Collaboration'.
Step 2: To join a group, enter the unique 8-digit access code associated with that group and select 'Join'.
Upon joining the session, your personal notes and highlights will be temporarily hidden, and the group creator’s notes and highlights will be displayed within your eBook. To restore your own notes and annotations, select 'Exit Session'. You may return to the group creator’s annotations at any time, provided their group remains enabled.
Step 1: Tap the ‘Navigation’ icon found at the top left corner, then choose ‘Collaboration’.
Step 2: Click on ‘Share Notes’ and fill in the necessary information.
Step 3: Give the 8-digit code to others so they can join your group, share notes, and highlights. Anyone in the group can easily move between shared notes and their own personal notes!
To collaborate in real time, you need to enter a session. Under ‘Groups you Manage’, you’ll find the access code, options to join live collaboration, remove members, or delete the group.

Purchasing and Checkout
All of our books are printed to order. Orders are typically processed within 3 to 5 business days, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
At this time, our system can only process payments via credit card. We accept Master Card, Visa, American Express and Discover.
The most frequent cause of declined credit card payments is an “AVS mismatch”. Please ensure that the billing address you provide corresponds exactly with the information on file for your credit card.
If your payment continues to be declined after confirming your billing address, we recommend reaching out to your bank or credit card issuer for further assistance.
Our system operates through full automation. Once an order has been confirmed, it is immediately processed and cannot be canceled.
Should you contact us via our Contact Form or directly at cismbooks@icisf.org promptly after placing your order, we will make every reasonable effort to manually cancel your request prior to production. However, due to system automation, we cannot guarantee that cancellation will be possible at this stage.
Please note that incoming communications are monitored only during business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Eastern Time. If a cancellation is successfully completed, your original credit card will be refunded within three business days, less a $10.00 USD cancellation fee.

Quick Reference Cards
While our CISMbooks are all printed on demand and shipped from our printer facility after a 3-5 business days processing time, our Quick Reference Cards are shipped directly from our ICISF office every Monday and/or Tuesday. That’s why you will receive them in a separate package and at a different time.

Should your item arrive damaged from shipping, please take photos of both the item and its box, including the shipping label, and attach them to your email to cismbooks@icisf.org. This helps us file a claim with the courier.
If you've received an incorrect item, please keep the original shipping box if possible. We will send you a return label via email so a courier can pick up the package.
Keep in mind that selecting expedited shipping will not affect the automated processing time. Every book is printed on demand and dispatched after a processing period of 3 to 5 business days.

Once your order is delivered to the address entered at checkout, the courier assumes responsibility for any lost or stolen packages. If your package goes missing or is stolen, contact the courier using your tracking number. They can assist with locating your package or filing a claim, but this is only possible if you selected a courier service that offers tracking.

Once you make a purchase, a PDF containing the video title will appear in your bookstore account’s eLibrary. Download this PDF to your device and open it. Inside, you’ll find a link to access the video file along with detailed instructions for downloading the video and other important information. The video is in .MP4 format. Both Windows and macOS users can play MP4 files without installing additional software. By default, Windows uses Windows Media Player, and macOS uses QuickTime. If you want to use subtitles, we recommend using VLC Media Player, which is free and widely used.
Don't worry! If you've already saved the PDF to your device, the link inside remains active—simply click it and follow the download steps once more. If you deleted the PDF, you can still find it (along with your video link) stored in your bookstore account's eLibrary.
To access your eLibrary, log in to your account and click “My Account” at the top right. The “eLibrary” option will appear in your User Account. If you have trouble logging in or have forgotten your username, please use the "Contact Us" form. Our team will assist you as soon as possible. Expect responses within 24 hours on weekdays and at least 48 hours on weekends.
A VTT file is a "voice-to-text" file that contains video subtitles. Using appropriate software, such as the free open-source VLC media player, these subtitles can be embedded seamlessly into your downloaded video.

No. All videos and their content are protected by copyright under U.S. Copyright laws and belong to ICISF. Please share the link to our Online Bookstore so others can purchase their own copy instead.
Due to Vimeo video link privacy settings, embedding the online video in your presentation is not permitted. However, you may download the video to your device and then insert the locally stored file into your presentation.
Yes. Although subtitles don't automatically appear on your downloaded video, your purchase comes with an English transcript as a “voice-to-text” (VTT) file, which can be accessed in your eLibrary. By using an appropriate program—such as the recommended free VLC media player—you can embed these subtitles into your downloaded video. Alternatively, you can use the provided link to view the video directly on its online platform, Vimeo, where you can easily enable subtitles by clicking the “CC” button in the video options.
We are actively working on transcripts in other languages and will make the “Voice-to-text” (VTT) files available upon request at no additional cost.
